Painting is hard! And I hate it, because I can do a line drawing in like 20 minutes, and it takes HOURS to do a painting. Reality SUCKS.
Also, don't lasso colorable areas into layers in Photoshop CS4 and then think, "I'll merge them down." No, Photoshop will RAPE you with opacity merging and then toss the body into a ditch alongside a forgotten road, deep in the woodlands of GayforButtsville. Never again.
I don't know what color Jean really is, so I just picked the look that I thought looked natural. I have it set up in Photoshop so that I can make the jeans, her eyes, her skin or the... armor? Whatever her arms are made of, that chitin material, different colors. Also, the butterfly. So, if I decide I don't like any of them, BOOM. Photoshop crashes. Then after a restart, BOOM. Color change. Simply as that.
Too bad people can't wish their imaginations onto a canvas, yet. Then again, that would condemn art forever. Gateways to merit set determined men as their keepers.

As time passes I'm getting more into the practice of "One Layer, No lineart, Speedpaint a sketch, Final Destination". It's a bitch but ceritanly helps speeding things.
